Billboards 2017 Women in Music list included Roc Nation’s Chief Operating Officer Desiree Perez. The notably private executive holds a status as a strong negotiator, which she demonstrated again with a $200 million investment in TIDAL from Sprint announced January. A deal which paid off half a year later when JAY-Z dropped 4:44, a Billboard 200 No. 1 album, his 14th to date. The album was a free download for about 1 million listeners, earning him a platinum plaque prior to the album’s actual release. 4:44 has managed to gain 600,000 additional album sales and serves as the reigning flagship of an exciting marketing operation. Live Nation, Roc Nations equity partner, signed a new touring partnership with Jay Z, an extended term, $200 million partnership. Before Roc’s 10th anniversary due 2018, the sales from his current tour is 21 percent more than Magna Carta in 2013.
Desiree Perez, also known as Des Perez is a close ally to the popular Jay Z for over two decades and has a very long record with managing SC Enterprises. Dez has shown to be suited to such an influential job as she is amazing at crunching numbers, is a fierce and tough negotiator with a novel history, not even Empire’s Cookie could stand up against. Des Perez held a part in negotiating Beyoncé Formation stadium and played an important part in a Samsung deal with Rihanna. Dez is part of a group that runs the whole operation at Roc Nation, including management, publishing as well as labeling. This group also manages the force behind Tidal. This collective goes by the name Hova Circle of Influence and includes Jay Brown, Ty Ty Smith, Jana Fleischman, and Chaka Pilgrim.
